First Class Flight to France? (Just kidding)

To anyone who has never flown to Europe or been on a long flight - you're in the right hands.

To begin painting the picture for you, the excitement before an international flight is something almost indescribable. The thought of going to an entirely different country filled with new people, places, and foods is enough to make me sleep with a smile on my face for an entire month prior.

The international terminal is my absolute favorite because people are truly traveling from all over. To me, entering the international terminal is like entering the gates of heaven. I'm greeted with different languages, a calm and sophisticated atmosphere, experienced travelers, and gate monitors with destinations such as Copenhagen, Johannesburg, Rome, Dubai, and London. It's like you won the golden ticket and are waiting to experience the greatest adventure of your life.

The first time I saw a two-story plane was at the Detroit airport. I was flying to our Cabin in northern Michigan. My Dad and brother sat with me as we waited for our next flight. As I looked out the window onto the tarmac, I saw a two-story plane and it was set to head to Tokyo. I thought my thirteen-year-old self was going to pass out from excitement. Two-story planes? I couldn't believe it.

My first true international flight was to London, England in 2019. London was amazing and so was the trip. I remember boarding the plane and seeing the massive middle row, something I had only seen a couple of times before when flying to New York City. The meals on the plane were nothing like I had experienced before either. Two meals, snacks, and what felt like unlimited drinks. They usually give you a meal for dinner and then breakfast when you wake up.

There also isn't a more surreal feeling than landing in a country you've never been to. It is one of my favorite feelings that life gives me. Seeing the landscape of a new place, and reading signs with more than just English on them makes me filled with happiness from head to toe.

I remember flying into Barcelona as our plane glided above the exquisite coast. I couldn't believe how beautiful the water was, how the city was built in little squares for as far as the eye could see.

So as I sit on the plane to Paris, I promise to bring you along all of my adventures. By the time this article is released, I will have been living in Paris for a month, but at this very moment, I am about to close my eyes, smiling big as ever, and await the morning when I wake up and get to experience the journey in the one and only Paris, France.
