Let’s Talk Face Wash!

In this blog, we are going to dive into what I consider to be the best face washes, scrubs, and wipes on the market.

A little bit about my skin –

I have combination skin. It gets pretty dry in the winter, but also can get pretty oily in the humid, hot summers. I also have very sensitive skin! I use certain products based on these factors as well as the condition my skin is in. I don’t struggle with acne, but I do get acne. Every time I’m extra stressed or have been grinding out homework for days on end, I can expect to have some acne.

Face Wash -

My go-to is the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser. $6.59 Walgreens

It’s a super silky soft cleanser that leaves my skin refreshed and moisturized. This is a great product whether you are breaking out or not. I think sometimes when we get acne, we want to wash our face extra and scrub the acne off. This is a bad idea, don’t try it. This Cetaphil cleanser is a great face wash especially if you are struggling with acne or using an acne medication because it does not dry your skin out.

Tula The Cult Classic Purifying Face Wash $28.00 Ulta Beauty

I believe this product is a more expensive version of the Cetaphil cleanser. I really enjoy this cleanser because it also leaves my face very moisturized. It has a thick consistency and mild scent. This is cleanser is always in my shower, a total must if you can.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Cleasner $14.99 Target

This skincare line has honestly been a lifesaver. If you struggle with acne, I recommend the La Roche Posay Effaclar Dermatological Acne System. I use this when I have bad stress breakouts or hormonal acne. It’s a thin, super soft cleanser that works wonders. This cleanser, since it is medicated it does dry out the skin a bit more. Using this twice a day during a breakout is completely okay if you moisturize properly and don’t scrub the sh*t out of your face.

Tatcha The Deep Cleanse Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser $38.00 Sephora

The price listed is the full-size option, but it also comes in a smaller travel size option. This is one of my favorite face washes. It is a light wash with small exfoliating bits and smells amazing.

Whenever I decided to splurge on a face wash it is ALWAYS this one. This wash leaves my face silky and smooth as well as exfoliated.

Face Scrubs -

Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Oil-Free Power-Clear Scrub $6.83 Walmart

This is my go-to scrub when I have a breakout or feel a breakout coming. It’s a smooth scrub with a minty sort of feel. It surprisingly is not drying, and I sometimes use it daily! For instance, on days I have long sweaty workouts this is my go-to

Cetaphil Extra Gentle Daily Scrub Exfoliator $9.99 Ulta

This is my usual, everyday scrub because it is so soft and gentle. It exfoliates my skin just enough without overdoing it. This is something I feel like everyone should have. It is a simple scrub that can be used no matter what the occasion is.

Makeup Removal Products!

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil $13.99 Ulta

When my skin is on the drier side, I turn to this DHC deep cleansing oil. This is one of my favorite make-up removers. It doesn’t leave your skin dry or feeling like it has residue on it. It removes my makeup easily and quickly. Here’s a fun fact, rub this oil in your blackhead prone areas. Do so in the shower or a steamy area and after a couple of minutes wipe the oil off with a hot wet rag. This works wonders on removing blackheads!

Ponds Makeup Remover Cleansing Balm $9.99 Walgreens

I love this product after a night out or after wearing heavy makeup. I am not a fan of the cold cream, it feels weird to me and I honestly don’t like how it smells like I’m rubbing lotion on my face. This is a clear balm with little to no scent and is very gentle. My eye makeup comes off easily with it and my face feels moisturized after.

Cetaphil Cleansing Cloths, Gentle Skin $5.99

My go-to face wipes! These take my light makeup off easily and do a light cleanse on my face. After a jog or running errands using these wipes is an easy quick cleanse, without having to wash! Some face wipes burn my face a little or irritate them and these don’t at all!

Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes with Rose Water $4.99

These are my other favorite makeup wipes. They are super gentle and have a hint of rose to them, which also makes me love them. They take off makeup easily and don’t leave a weird residue on my face!

One/Size GO OFF Makeup Dissolving Mist - $18.00 Sephora

This mist works WONDERS. I was so skeptical of it because honestly, how could a little face mist actually dissolve my makeup? Well, I’m here to tell you it literally dissolves your makeup, and it is amazing. You don’t need to spray a lot of it either! You can use the mist and simply take some makeup wipes you have and rub your makeup right off!

One/Size GO OFF Makeup Remover Wipes - $8.00 Sephora

These are Patrick Starrr’s makeup wipes and I really enjoy them for removing my heavier makeup. I wouldn’t use this as my everyday makeup wipe but after a long night out, it makes the clean-up process less of a hassle. I love using these wipes with the dissolving mist, the duo makes for the easiest removal!
